J. B. Priestley
“The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event. You go to bed in one kind of a world and wake up in another quite different, and if this is not enchantment then where is it to be found?”
Waking up to see the crisp, fresh white blanket of snow covering everything we could see filled me with excitement. It is my 4 year old daughter Willows first real experience of snow as for the past few years our winters have not delivered snow quite like it did the weekend past. The schools text to say they were going to be closed. My day of editing and organising client orders I had planned was out the window. I decided it was the perfect time for a family day.
The new agenda for the day was;
Build a snowman
Have a snowball fight
Have a warm lunch with a hot drink- the kids opted for fish finger sandwiches with tea while I ate my Vegan fish fingers also with a hot cup of tea
Christmas Movie (we watched the snowman and the snow dog)
Hot bath for the kids with a new Lush bath bomb
Eat mince pies while watching ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’
Lots of cuddles under our blankets
It was such a magical day. The time I got to spend with my two little ones was much needed and so appreciated. Winter for me is such a special time of year, a time for family, friends and the tiny details make all the difference. I have so many fabulous memories spent in the snow when I was a child. The time my dad built and igloo in our back garden being one of them. I hope to give my children just any many beautiful memories as my parents gave me.
