Over the past 4 years of running my business my editing style has changed multiple times. I always struggled in the beginning with images being inconsistent when editing. Colours would be slightly off etc. After my workshop with Jillian Greenhill I found I had a better understanding of colour and how to use levels and curves to enhance an image. While I still use these skills I also use them with other techniques to enhance my work that gives my work the Jenna Marshall stamp. Here is a before and after editing an image of my son:
Watch the video below to see how I enhanced this image using mostly Lightroom.
My outdoor portraits do not take very long to edit compared to newborn sessions. Newborn sessions I often have dry skin and baby acne to remove which can add on a lot of time. I also correct blankets. Here is a before and after of a newborn portrait I took during Vienna’s session.
I am currently taking part in a Self-portrait project. This week I decided to test my photoshop skills and try something a little more artistic. I love how photoshop allows me to challenge myself and to be more creative. There really are no limits. This is far from perfect but for my first attempt I am pretty pleased with how this image of myself came out.
